About Us
Mike Kane Sr., Connie Kane, and Mike Kane, Jr. took over the Durango/Cortez operations of Fire Ready in January of 2004. Mike and Connie relocated to the southwest in late 2000. They bring a wide variety of experience to the business, including forest management, environmental education, chemistry, healthcare, sales, and marketing.

Mike Jr. received a BA in Business Management from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He moved to the Front Range of Colorado as a manager for Enterprise Rent-a-Car. In the small amount of spare time he has, Mike Jr. plays golf, basketball, mountain bikes, and hikes. His experience in management and customer service is invaluable in establishing relationships necessary to make this business successful. Mike Sr. and Connie are happy to be near their daughter Jenny, son-in-law Will, and granddaughter Samme who live in Durango. They make up as many excuses as possible to get the whole family together.

Locally, the Kane's are involved with the Dolores Chamber of Commerce, Durango Nature Studies, Four Corners Child Advocacy, the San Juan Mountains Association, the Southwest Land Conservancy, Cortez HomeBuilders Association, Durango Rotary Club, and the FireWise Council of Southwest Colorado. Connie is also involved with the Maternal Child Health Council (chairperson) and San Juan College.

Clients Say About the Durango Office
"We were very satisfied and would highly recommend your service to others. Mike Jr. is very personable, polite, and transmits a sense of confidence during his initial and subsequent contacts with the customer. His estimate of the time required to complete the work we wanted done was right on! Chris and his crew were equally professional and friendly. They were careful to spread the chips evenly over the ground while keeping the driveway and paths clear of the fallout. They cut the tree trunks flush with the ground and were careful to leave the live oak and other healthy vegetation intact. We were pleasantly surprised that our property looks so much better thanks to the efforts of your great guys. We also feel a lot safer. Our thanks to each and all of you for your fine work."
George and Barbara H., Colorado

"I am so impressed with the workmanship and professionalism of both you and your crew. I can't wait to see the finished product. Thank you for taking charge of what I considered to be an insurmountable task. I will sing your praises whenever requested to do so."
Jo Ann M., Colorado
